According to 2011 u. s bureau of the census, over 90 percent of adults in their mid-fifties today have or previously been married (giddens 2016). However, today the age people get married has risen sharply. One of the biggest reason is increase in cohabitation among young people. Beside marriage, centralized government is another contributor to changes in family pattern. Unlike in the 1950s, today government are more involved in altering traditional way of behavior by advocating for smaller families. In addition to the 1950s extended family systems and kinship system were strong but due to large-scale migration from rural to urban area these family systems have weakened. Today generation has a bundle of options to romantic partner, a research that ansari stated in his book explained that when we have more option we actually less satisfied and have a harder time making choices.
