Due to the characteristics of the work that is carried out in the laboratory, accidents of various kinds can be caused, such as fires, explosions, poisonings and burns. Therefore, appropriate action elements must be available so that these effects can be controlled. When you start work in a laboratory, the first thing to do is to know the following data: Situation of the security elements: eyewash, showers, fire extinguishers, fire retardant blankets and first aid kit. General rules of work and instructions on action in case of accident. During the stay in the laboratory, the student must wear safety glasses and gown. The gloves should be used when handling caustic products. It is strictly forbidden to smoke or consume food or drinks in the laboratory. Do not put any chemical product in your mouth to know its taste, nor touch it with your hands. You have to wash your hands and remove your gown before leaving the laboratory.
