He was unable to finish the islamic conquests during his lifetime because xi xia began to rebel against chinggis khan so he was forced to return and fight. Chinggis khan initially did not want to fight khwarazm, he actually intended to trade with him. However, rumors spread that chinggis khan was tricking khwarazm and sending spies to attack the king. Chinggis khan"s messenger was killed and this led to all-out war. Chinggis khan lost all respect for the king because he killed merchants and not soldiers. Also, he believed his honor was tainted as he had no intention of fighting the king until this moment.
