Communication- process of responding or reacting to info with understanding. Human communication- process that helps individuals create meaning that what they experience and conserve in the world around them, then attempt to share that sense of meaning with other persons. Meta communication- when we communicate with others about the way we are communicating. Mass communication- occurs when an individual sends the exact message to a huge number of people at one time without much listener feedback. Public communication- when a communicator delivers a speech to a big audience live and in person. Small-group communication- investigates messages between person- usually in clusters of 3-12 individuals. Who meet to interact with a common goal, to nd a solution, to avoid a potential dilemma, take a vote, or for recreation. Intrapersonal communication- focusing on communicating with ourselves (cogitating, ruminating, self-talk) Intergroup communication- exchanges between individuals from different genders, classes, or ages. Intercultural communication- communication between persons from two distinct cultures.
