However, this led to overpopulation of mental patients and the brain pathology belief, ending moral therapy. Psychoanalysis- theory of the structure of the mind and the role of the unconscious processes in determining behavior (freud) Behaviorism- focuses on how learning and adaption affect the development of psychopathology (skinner, watson, pavlov) Psychoanalytic model- theory on the development of our personalities. Intrapsychic conflicts- conflicts within the mind; the id and superego trying to take over while the ego is trying to balance everything out. Displacement- expressing your emotions to something else than the cause of the issues. Sublimation- where you redirect energy or emotions into your work, etc. Psychosexual stages of development- stages during infancy and early childhood; stages= oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital.
