The earth is, through geology (= study of the surface of earth), estimated to be 4,6 billion years old. Around 6-7 million years ago, a group of bipeds (= ancestors of chimpanzees and humans) were forced from the jungle to the savannah due to the theory that africa became a lot drier. Around 1-2 million years later the human line separated from that of the chimpanzees. Around 2 million years ago was the beginning of the genus homo (ex; habilis, erectus) as bipeds began resembling the modern human. Homo sapiens = the only species to survive, with fossils found in africa dating back. 200,000 years, as the homo sapiens began spreading across the globe: about 100,000 50,000 years ago there was a reduction of the population to. 50,000 years ago: the expansion of homo sapiens to europe and asia australia. Neolithic revolution (around 10,000 bc) = another major transition from nomadic hunter-gatherer society to farming and settlement.
