The goal of this study was to investigate the connections between attitudes and group norms and the impact they have on bullying behaviors in elementary school children. The participants in this study were 1220 elementary school children, equal proportions of girls and boys, between the ages of nine and twelve years old. To begin the study, the participants were first given a version of the participant role. Questionnaire with 15 items that sought to measure peer-evaluated bullying behaviors. It attempted to assess items such as their attitudes towards bullying, attitudes towards the victims of bullying, and perceptions of classroom norms associated with bullying. They were then asked to recall situations of bullying that they had witnessed, and given a.
