Cannot move memories into long term storage. Tell me what this is and what it demonstrates. Can learn implicit tasks, even though they felt new to him: amygdala (the brain"s almond) Amygdala: almond-shaped organ in limbic system, communicates with neocortex, thalamus, brain stem, emotional computer (ledoux, 1992) Plays role in releasing stress related hormones, during highly emotional experiences: animal lesions in amygdala. Block learning of avoidance response in fear conditioning. Couldn"t remember that they should be afraid: human lesions in amygdala (young, 1997) What changes is their ability to process emotional information auditory.
