Decided to do religious/sacre music and became a preacher. Married his 13 year old cousin and dropped from the scene. To replace the loss of all of these artists, labels created teen idols to fill the void. Know artist names, radio stations, song titles. Talked about field hollers and spirituals --- know deep significance of that music. Mississippi delta and beginning of blues --- know where it is, what the early versions sound like, guitar techniques, delta blues. Know location of radio stations and what made them significant. Rural travis and other honky tonk artists. Look in notes to find what genres came together to form jump blues. Sam phillips - important in terms of rock and roll.
