If you start paying kids or giving outside rewards for things they should be doing, they stop enjoying the activity and begin to think of it as a job. Reciprocity: when i give something to you, you give something back. Attention: focus awareness on a narrow range stimuli. Divided attention: try to pay attention to 2 or more simultaneous messages. Only focus on one thing at a time. Only one verbal pathway, cant focus on 2 things. Studying to music: if song has words you cant read at the same time (verbal pathway), no words extroverts do well while studying with music but introverts do not. Driving with phone: 4x more likely to die if you"re holding a phone, bluetooth 3x more likely to die, shows that the distraction is mostly caused by talking not holding, 25x more likely to die if texting while driving (more than drinking)
