Multicellular: aggregation of cells that are specialized for performing different tasks. Coenocytic: multiple nuclei in one large cell. Some dont even have a mitochondria and cant use aerobic respiration. Cling to human intestinal lining => severe diarrhea and cramps. Trichonymphs: live in the gut of termite and allows termite to digest wood. Have no mitochondria b/c they live in anaerobic environment. Cause several diseases of humans and cattle. Cause tissue damage and nervous system degradation. Evolve a way to defeat immune system. Parasite grows in bloodstream => immune system creates response against it. In response to this the parasite sheds its coat and grows a new one. Eat: sweep bacteria and small particles into oral groove. Branch filaments that grow over a food source and digest it with extracell enzymes. Fungi = cell wall made of chitin. Cottony mass that develop on decaying organic matter in water. Live in tissues of coral and mollusks.
