Post-pubertal- drip rate decreased by progesterone (no progesterone in pre-pubertal female because no cycle means no cl which means no hormone receptor) Influence of injecting hormones to a cow 2 months of age: Should get a gnrh surge after reaching estrogen threshold, but there is no gnrh-r. Decrease of receptors in tonic center causes increase of receptors in surge center. Many estrogen receptors in tonic center, few in surge center. High estrogen threshold required in surge center. Estrogen begins to have more positive effects in surge center and lowers threshold.
