Document Summary

The irreversible loss of flow of vital fluids approach has to do with the heart, blood vessels, lungs, and respiratory tract losing their function. The irreversible loss of the soul from the body approach has to do with the presence or absence of the soul in the body. The irreversible loss of the capacity for bodily integration approach is like the first approach but has more to do with the body being able to regulate its organs on its own. The irreversible loss of the capacity for consciousness of social interaction approach has to do with being able to interact with the environment around you. I think the most helpful approach, and the most controversial, would be the irreversible loss of the capacity for bodily integration. An example of this might be someone that is in a coma in a hospital and has little to no brain activity.
