Climate change- a change in average temperature, humidity, weather, etc, of a region (long term). Weather is short term and is not climate. Greenhouse effect- when light energy is easily transmitted into an object, but heat energy is retained. Kind of like when heat traps in your car. Natural forcings= climate forcings (factors that influence climate) that occur independent of human activity. They are major shifts that affect the earth and occur whether humans are present of not. (forest fires, volcanoes, tsunamis, floods, earthquakes, etc,. ) Anthropogenic forcings- climate forcings that occur as a result of human as a result of human activity. (nuclear waste, gas, technology, etc,. Cap and trade- a system where total co2 emissions are limited, and entities are allowed carbon emissions through their purchase of carbon credits . Scientist use scientific notation to scale the numbers down to better understand and grasp how big it actually is. Identify through scaling the sizes of celestial objects.
