Francisco goya"s los caprichos depicted scenes of fantasy and served as an artistic exercise. The prints depict both the social satire and political critique. The distinction between good and evil is unclear. Goya"s the third of may, 1808 shows the parallel rifles and soldiers depicted like a killing machine. The hill traps the figures about to be shot.
