Mindfulness is a process of actively making new distinctions about objects in one"s awareness. Mindfulness as a psychological attractor: the effect on children. A person perception speaks to our tendency to make judgments of other people. We make these judgments in just a few seconds. Kids are paying attention, even if you think they are not: Importance of adult role models in children"s development, children may be highly sensitized and affected by the mind states of adults with whom they interact (i. e. parents, teachers, counselors) may not always be aware of this sensitivity. If distraction goes up, usually performance goes down: physical, cognitive, emotion, psychological, social. Being mindful has a variety of positive effects: on one"s health, workplace productivity, learned outcomes. Mindful: actively making new and subtle distractions about her, noticing subtle idiosyncrasies, being sensitive to her uniqueness, noticing change as she develops through time.
