Girls who mature early tend to be curvier compared to girls who develop later. We see an interesting body image shift/ ip image: The inactivity of middle childhood can in uence adolescence. We see girls especially who across the lifespan have more fat tissue than boys. A period of rapid physical maturation involving hormonal and bodily changes that occur primarily during early adolescence. Facial and chest hair growth in males. Males: rst ejaculation, voice change, penis elongation, and testes development. Females: highly irregular menstrual cycles, rounding of breasts, widening of hips. Early onset of puberty can create risks for females: Eating disorder: in our culture, putting weight on is not a good thing. So people diet, and this can contribute to many eating disorders. These are psychological disorders which are in uenced by our culture. Girls and boys look at the ideals in the media and compare themselves to the pictures. Earlier dating and sexual involvement with males.
