Influenced by: specific drug, amount ingested, route of administration. Disturbances in: perception, wakefulness, attention, thinking, judgment, psycho-motor behavior. A primary cause of preventable death in us: about 20% of deaths attributable to tobacco. Tobacco accounts for 480,000 deaths/yr (1 in 5) (us: more than alcohol, car crashes, suicide, homicide, and illegal drugs combined.
