Productive: leads to new ideas and new research or questions; generation of new information. Clues to personality look at all parts of the psychological triad (thought feeling and behaviors) 4 main clues (data are clues: s data (self- report) High face validity= it asses what it seems it will asses; most common: magazines. Advantages: could potentially gather a lot of information from someone, bc we are with ourselves all day erryday. Access to internal thoughts, that only you have access to. Definitional truth: data is true, possibility of being true bc we are asking you about yourself. Casual force: how you think about yourself effects your behavior and creates your own reality. People lie, all the time, maybe not on purpose bc of lack of self awareness, distorted perception.
