Ps101- lecture 7- lobes of the cerebral cortex. Directs and executes everything in the brain. To ultimately turn a thought into action it must go through the frontal lobes. The area of the brain needed for speech. Damage to the broca area means you can still understand speech but you cannot speak/find the right words. Frontal cortex was lesioned in an accident. Was kind and religious, turned vulgar and impulsive. Damage to frontal lobe leads to poor short term memory and lack of inhibition. His injury helped the link between the frontal lobe and personality.
