Observation was that there was no bacteria growing around the mold where the mold killed it off. Something from the mold was killing the bacteria. Sterile media media with mold bacteria won"t grow in the presence of the mold. Bowling ball has more mass (heavy) and the beach ball has less mass. Weight of something on earth is different than something on the moon because there is a very different gravitational pull. Mass is universal we are going to focus on mass because it doesn"t change depending on gravity (more physics) Physical properties - observed with no change in composition (ie what color, shape, size, how much mass, temperature, state of matter) Chemical properties- requires a chemical change (or change in composition) to observe (ie magnesium metal reacts in acid and changes its state of matter)
