Frontal- front from back; abdominal and posterior planes (coronal plane) Cranial cavity- contains the brain; continuous with the vertebral column. Abdominal and pelvic cavity- in the same membrane. Serous membrane- double walled- membrane and has two different layers (lungs and heart) Clinicians have to almost have x-ray vision. Section it to be very thin so that i can shine light through it. Heated and then it adheres and can be seen on the glass slides. The cross sections will look differently based on the plane that you slice it through. 4 types of tissues in the body: epithelial, connective, muscular, nervous, epithelial tissues. Skin and lining of organs, cavities, blood, vessels. Brick wall is filled with packed in bricks. Epithelia (pl. ) are polarized: apical and basal surfaces. Apical exposed to the blood, the air, etc. Inside the cell, there is some organization of cells and features.
