Physiology and emotion: sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions allow us to react, physiological arousal occurs with changes in emotion in the autonomic nervous system. Pupils dilate, changes in long distance vision, mouth dry, sweat, goosebumps, respiratory passages dilate, etc. Increased adrenal gland activity and blood flow, inhibit digestive activities: galvanic skin response- measure of autonomic activation. Electrodes located in different parts of the body activated with sweat: polygraph test, uses galvanic skin response as part of measurement to detect "lies, anti-social personality disorder (usually produces serial killers)
