Ickes"s alaska plan allowing refugees that wouldn"t upset the public by settling in alaska population is small, needed settlers defending alaska from invasion not subject to immigration quotas because territory was not a us state yet. Fdr agreed that it was a good idea, but worried about public"s rampant anti- semitism not given serious consideration by the government. Jews are taking over american territory this is because 70% of people opposed further asylum above the quota in a poll same year as kristallnacht, 1938. 1939 was the rst time that the german quota was lled.
