Combines social learning & cognitive development (active construction of schema) Children learn through imitation (role models) reinforcement and punishment. Kids play in gender type ways before gender identity, they start playing w/ boy and girl culturally appropriate toys and ways. Shouldn"t be happening if kohlberg was right, result of reinforcement and punishment, dropping social learning theory, just reinforcement and punishment, kids aren"t actively constructing.
