New world monkeys use their tail as a 5th arm to grab onto things. Fruit eaters mostly so they are abundant in the tropics. Howlers are more leaf-eaters and they pick young leaves from certain trees. First to show that chimps can use tools. Capybara the biggest rodent species and in south american swamps. Beavers change the habitat and make dam where water flows. Live in ponds to build lodges which have underwater exits. Harvest food and store it underwater near the other exit of the lodge, so they access it under the ice in the winter. Keystone species- one that supports a lot of other species. Lots of water plants and muskrats follow the beavers into the habitat. They make the pond suitable for ducks also. Smaller ones are the base of the food chain for larger predators. Push up the soil as they dig the tunnels. Only come up in the surface when they"re flooded.
