Taking pictures of food and posting on instagram has become something most teenagers do during meal times. While most people believe it is just a new trend, studies show that the photograph of food will have psychological effect on the taste of food customers consume. In the research, claudia mcneilly focused on three experiments that show the change of the taste of food after photographing it. In the first experiment, people are given red velvet cake with the condition of either taking picture of the cake or not before eating it. The conclusion shows that the people feel that the cake tastes better after the picture is taken. In the second experiment, people who are told that the red velvet cake is made with rich ingredients rate the cake tastier than the ones who are told that the cake is made with healthy low fat frosting.
