Divorced: domain: legally married, legally divorced. Widowed: domain: legally married, partner died. Let"s say you have 1000 people who have registered to vote; find out from public records whether they voted. If we can find a death record, we"ll put them in widowed. If we find no marriage, we"d put them in living with a partner. If we find a marriage license, we"ll call them separated. To have a semi-presidential regime, you have to have 3 things. Create a variable with two numbers: yes/no 1/2. List a whole set of procedures and the data for putting a case into those categories.
