Slide 8: 140 genes when mutated can drive mutagenesis, 12 signaling pathways, regulate signaling processes, know change in genome and what cell is doing. Slide 12: cancer cell needs to solve these 6 problems in order to metastasize, in the end look the same but route to end phenotype is different. Leads to different genes: can hit regulatory gene that regulate many functions, translocation, super common in tumor genome. Slide 14: mutation rate can increase in tumor. Slide 15: look at bunch of tumors, are some mutations enriched in tumors, if they accumulate driver mutations, they should be enriched in mutations if sequence enough tumors. Slide 16-17: all question and answers in the text are important for the exams!! Slide 18: local environment in all these tissues, different patterns of gene expression, different routes of having cancer. Slide 19: question and answer, yes and no, some genes more specific to some types of cancer than other.
