Museums and archaeology: why undertake research on museum collections, lower costs of museum research, many of major, significant sites now destroyed. By development: high impact archaeology done in past, ethical reasons, issues concerning museum research, curation crisis; Curation is the long term storage of arch materials so that future stakeholders can have access to this. Costly to curate a bunch of materials and many museums have no more space. Often times crm doesn"t curate the materials or doesn"t do it very well: challenges of using (cid:685)old(cid:686) collections; Study materials that you had no hand in collecting in the field; Collected by someone else and you had no hand in developing the research design, probably was done years ago. You would"ve done things differently but you don"t have a choice. Data that you curate is only as good as the record keeping and how well you kept up with how you collected the materials and curated them.
