Divided into three parts: sound waves are collected by the pinna or auricle, the visible part of the outer ear. Inner ear: vibrations applied to cochlea, which is fluid-filled and lined w/ tint hair receptors (or cilia) Cilia converts the energy to electric energy: hairs (cilia) respond to certain frequencies and stimulate auditory nerve. Auditory nerves carry impulses to brain, which we interpret as sound".
