BIOL-242 Lecture Notes - Lecture 18: Lymphatic Vessel, Endothelium, Blood Vessel
Document Summary
Chapter 20 part 1 | the lymphatic system. Venule end: water will be recalled inside the capillary. Arteries branch into arterioles form capillaries that make up the capillary bed. Liquid goes out of capillaries to reach the cells that are in the center between the capillaries. Oxygen and nutrients are given to the cells. Cells dump co 2 and waste into the capillary. Blood full of co 2 return to the heart. If not all the liquid has been sucked into the capillary, it will be drained by the lymphatic vessels. Lymphatic vessels // collect all the liquid that did not return at the capillary end of the capillary beds and bring it back to the heart. All the liquid coming out from capillary beds will return to the heart in this way. In between the red and blue arteries/veins are the green lymphatic vessels. Filaments / fibers anchored to connective tissues.
