Medulla area postrema - brain-blood barrier(emetic function) when tasting a high level of toxin content, it induces our vomit response) cranial nerves (input and output) medulla basic life sustaining functions (controls heart rate, blood pressure, breathing rate) Dorsal = cerebellum balance, coordination of fine motor programs making small adjustment while walking, not fall alcohol receptors (speech is a highly sophisticated motor system) Communicating between other motor cortex in the cerebrum and cerebellum. Cerebellum is the second largest cluster of neurons in the brain.
