○ At the individual level with parents and kids, there was a time that parents
believed kids are like dogs or pets. They basically said the way for kids to change
their behavior is to punish them, even physically.
○ In Crawley WL is Phillips and Logan going to Crawley and threatening him with
his job if he doesnt change his behavior
○ Another example is a country invading or threatening to invade if they don't
change their behavior that the other country wants
○ Sometimes can work, people can change due to fear of punishment
● Win Win methods: instead of using the punishments, use incentives
○ Ex: Rewards for doing well in school
● Don't have to use the chart on the paper

● Resistance methods
○ Do your research and if at all possible do not do business with a win lose person
○ Mirror
○ Hard and reasonable
○ Quiet resistance (keep going around and around)
○ Parity building: ex: if you are being bullied, they are stronger and faster and
running is not an option, you could bring in a friend or older brother and change
the situation the bully no longer has clear cut higher power. More willing to WW
now. You have some ally.
○ Networking as a resistance method
○ Dialogic/creative reframing
○ Exposure/Transparency: utilize other people and their valued opinion
● Contingency plans: can't prep for everything so ask yourself the question, “IF i am
wrong, and my best idea fails, what is the most likely way it could fail?” then develop a
plan for that scenario

● Starts off with WW deal, Purchasing VP is going to change the hardware and software
for their whole management system, and going to use the new start up companies (Tech
Systems)
○ Win for Tech Systems: Giant contract, lots of money
