Document Summary

The hurricane has a sharply defined eye, due to the speed and quantity of hurricane. The hurricane has a more organized appearance - tighter appearance. Both storms are rotating and have a similar structure (winds increasing toward the center with rain bands) As the tropical storm intensifies, the wind strengthens. The eyewall becomes more pronounced, and cyclonic rain bands develop. Different intensities of rain as the rainbands pass. Loses fuel/power as it moves to cooler water or land without the warmer, Central core acts like a chimney, helping the hurricane grow stronger. Rainbands - water is being taken up, with spots between them where the cooler air moister water can fall back down. Low-altitude winds draw in moisture and heat, feeding cloud formation. Huge amounts of rainfall/flash floods associated with hurricanes - up to 20 inches. Most destructive part - eyewall - right part of the circle.
