Generative adult- commits him or herself to some activity that is larger than his or her life, a project, that will live on (can manifest in more than having children- charity, volunteer, taking care of nephews or nieces, etc. ) Research shows that this quality- generativity- can shape and form certain characteristics of the parent social involvement, psychological wellbeing, - an important value that afects how we function; also there are varying levels of generativity across people. High : diferent approach to parenting than low authoritative approach to parenting- combined emphasis on high demands but also focused on child"s wellbeing.
