In 1990s, researchers examined correlations of the big five traits between mz and dz twin pairs: mz twin pairs" correlations were more than twice as large in magnitude than dz twin pairs" correlations for: Openness to experience: heritability (how much of the trait can be attributed to genetics) in the big 40-50% range of the big 5 traits. Twins reunited after 35 years apart (nature vs. nurture) Linda raised and encouraged to go to college but her sister was raised by her abductor and pregnant by the age 17 without a high school degree. Researchers at the university of minnesota conducted one of the largest twin studies to date during the 1980s. Approximately 350 pairs of mz and dz twins: sample included those pairs of twins that had been separated during childhood. In one examination looking only at mz pairs of twins: the correlations for the twins raised together were almost identical to those mz twins who were reared apart.
