Feedback on the research plan homework is coming. The answers to the example problems are posted on canvas. The more samples you use, the closer you will get to your population mean. Multiple sample means will follow a normal distribution. We can determine the range within which the population mean will fall - the confidence interval. Inferential statistics allow you to use a single sample to estimate the parameters of the whole population - down, and as sample distribution goes up, error goes up. Inferential statistics allow you to use two more samples to compare the populations they represent use the sample size, sample mean, and sample distribution. Ex: on average, lsoe students have a higher iq than csom students. 95% confidence interval = m 2*se. Don"t need to know fomula for sampling error, but know that as sample size goes up, error goes.
