Document Summary

The easiest method of creating a sub-assembly is to simply introduce an existing assembly into another assembly. You must define a sub-assembly as flexible if you want it to move in freely in the parent assembly. Right click on subassembly and click make subassembly flexible. Icons denote whether they are flexible or rigid. You can create empty sub-assemblies in the parent assembly. Right-click on assembly and choose create new subassembly. Can save a subassembly only existing in the assembly file (not saved as separate assembly file). When saving, this window will pop up and gives you option to save subassembly externally or internlly. Although he subassembly is virtual, the components within it were created external to the assembly, and therefore remain a separate part document. Folders let you organize the featuremanager without promotion or demoting components into sub-assemblies. Or can right-click and choose create new folder, and drag and drop parts into folder.
