PR 660 Lecture Notes - Lecture 49: Strategic Management, Interpersonal Communication
Document Summary
A requirement of issues management is making the organization more aware of its relationships with its publics and markets and more sensitive to if those relationships don"t contain strains in them. Issues management isn"t just interested in relationship quality. The main focus is on issues or problems in relationships. An issue, which can ensue when differences in views lead to parties contesting, conflicting, or competing points of view results from problems that one or even more parties see. The nature of the problems comes from the difference between people"s beliefs of truth and what they see in an organization. Issue trajectory has implications for businesses plans, visions, missions, and strategic management. It also has implication for the organizational standards of corporate responsibility. Organizations that are more wise try to use all of the monitoring resources it has in order to be more vigilant of issues that come and evolve to threats and organizations opportunity.
