Teams are so popular because we think they are effective. Teams can achieve feats that a person might never be able to accomplish. Teams are more flexible and responsive to events that change than other forms or traditional departments are. They are an effective way to democratize organizations and increase involvement of employees. Our team involvement positively shapes the way we think as people and introduces a more collaborative mindset about our personal decision making. Just because organizations have utilized and embraces teamwork doesn"t mean their teams are always effective. As people, members of a team can be swayed by fads and herd mentality leading them away from making the best decisions. A group is two or more people that are either independent or interacting who work together to achieve a certain objective or group of objectives. A work group is a group that primarily interacts to: Help group members preform within their area of responsibility.
