Cognitive-behavioral therapy for panic disorder: ocd: both antidepressants and cbt are most effective. Therapy: cbt with focuses on exposure and response. Cbt is more effective than drugs, but both together are the best. Dbs might be an effective treatment: depressive: many different treatments are effective. Tricyclics (many neg. side effects), prozac (an ssri), and bupropion (doesn"t treat panic/ ocd) are drugs that can be taken. Cbt is just as effective as drugs and the results last longer; drug use is most effect for suicidal but therapy is better for long time recovery. Difference between anxiety and depression: anxiety worry about the future, depression thinks negatively about past, present, and future. Phototherapy: exposure to high intense light; for sad. Ect: for severe depression that don"t respond to normal treatment. Transcranial magnetic stimulation: affects left frontal lobes.
