First 4 weeks are neonatal infancy: most babies are 5. 5-10 pounds, 18-22 inches. The anatomy of a neuron : the insulation is called the myelin sheath - a white, fatty substance that is broken into small segments along the axon; myelin speeds up neural signals with progressive myelination. Why does this matter: neurotransmitters: chemicals transferred from one neuron to the other.
