All living things are made of atoms, atoms make up key molecules, molecules then make up the organelle, which occupy the different cells, cells come together to make up tissues (4 types), tissues form organs. Cannot understand the whole body if you do not understand the basic small things. Water: most abundant substance in the body, required for metabolic process, required for transport of substances, regulated body temp. Food: provides nutrients, supplies energy, supplies raw material. Oxygen: one-fifth of air, used to release energy from nutients.
