A film adaptation draws from previously written material, such as: The departed is a remake of the film inferno affairs. A film is 80% more likely to be made if it is based off of something written before if it sold before, it might sell again. A trip to the moon (1902) is based on the novel. From earth to the moon by jules verne, which is loosely based off of the first men in the moon by h. g. Sherlock holmes, ben hur, doctor jekyll and mr. hyde, frankenstein, dracula, robin. The autho(cid:396)"s i(cid:374)te(cid:374)t is the idea that o(cid:374)e (cid:373)ai(cid:374)tai(cid:374)s the (cid:373)ai(cid:374) focus, interpretation and meaning of the original author. Some films stay very faithful to original sources. Recent book adaptations in the last few years: hunger games films was largely faithful to its original sources, while maze. However, the hobbit got expanded to events that never happened in the book, stretching it out to three films.
