Inclusion: children with disabilities educated in the same context as nondisabled peers. When children are inclusive classrooms, teacher must use differentiated instruction. How they can express what they learned. Must have a good understanding of students current strengths/weaknesses (skill level) in order to develop next steps. Must understand how the child learns best. Limit whole group sit and wait-based activities . Provide success level activities to keep students motivated. Facilitate play (age appropriate) and communication opportunities. Increase use of small group and independent rotations. Use hands-on activities with manipulatives and educational materials (beware of work sheets, flashcards) Be aware of overuse or over reliance on prompting. This is a red flag that instruction or task is above their level. Scaffolding and differentiation to meet the needs of the student. Lesson objective: students participate in identifying today, yesterday and tomorrow. Programmed with the day of the week, etc. Bump it up : make it more than just today is monday .
