New prime ministers desire publicity and have staff to do so. Chief interrupters of what the prime minister said. The prime minister does not need to be in the spotlight every single day in order to communicate their message to the public. There are two types of news the pm will have: government news and party political news. The pm can make announcements at downing street, house of commons during pm questions, The british press is more cynical than the us press and can be more direct. More papers from independent and conservative view points than there are here. It is imperative that the pm has a coordinated communication strategy that can be coordinated by people on downing street or outside of it. As opposed to presidential system of government, the role of the pm is not only to win elections but to know when to call them.
