Political parties originated as a product of the revolutions of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Both conservative and liberal parties developed from the groupings in the house of commons in the 18th century. These groupings differentiate from each other by their attitudes towards the authority of the monarchy and the limitations which the constitutions should impose on that authority. Today"s pattern of party conferences, mass organizations, structured campaigns only developed after the creation of the mass electorate. Up until turn of the 20th century, two main parties are conservatives and liberals. Labor party is created in 1900 at a meeting of trade union representatives and members of various socialist organizations. Wanted to create a party that would increase the parliamentary representation of the working class which was growing in size due to the industrial revolution. Has its roots in industrial north of england.
