The abstract( summary or executive summary ) . An abstract is quite different from an introduction . It is a summary of the report , in which you include one sentence ( or so ) for every main section of your report for example , The major finding ( you may need several sentences here ) Write the abstract after you have written the report. If the report runs to more than few pages , there should always be a list of reports of the various section and headings to be found in the report . The contents list not only directs the reader to the page where he can obtain specific information , but also gives a quick survey of the structure and form of the report . When a large number of tables and figures appears in the report , the content page is often extended to incorporate list of the tables and figures .
