Reports mean an account of statement about, some things heard seen or done etc . You are an engineer in charge of some men who have recently put up a new iron gate in front of a college. After a few days the manager of the firm (company ) sends you to inspect the gate and to see if it is satisfactory . You bring back your report : " yes , it"s working fine . The dean is quite satisfied with it " : formal reports which must follow a definite pattern : In many cases the form or layout of a report must follow a pattern decided by somebody in authority.
